Movie Story : Jai Jawaan Jai Kisaan traces the life of Lal Bahadur Shastri, who later became Prime Minister of India. The story opens in pre-independence India, where the Garam Dal and Naram Dal waged war against the British with very different ideologies. Under Gandhi's leadership, the Naram Dal chose a peaceful march toward freedom, and Shastri became a prominent figure in that movement. Before his rise in public life, however, he faced poverty, the early death of his father, and the responsibility of caring for his mother, challenges that set his direction in life.
