Movie Story : During the Cuban missile crisis in 1962, a Russian submarine carrying a nuclear cargo bound for Cuba strays into American waters, and the U.S. Navy destroys it. Thirty-eight years later, the American submarine Roosevelt patrols the same stretch of ocean when an unseen force strikes it with crushing power and drags it to the seabed. There, the crew discovers a graveyard of shipwrecks, including the Soviet sub, and a monstrous, enormous octopus that has grown fat on the radioactive cargo. Trapped below the surface, the survivors must reach an emergency escape pod and a passing cruise ship before the creature finds them.
