Movie Story : In 1995 Louisiana, two detectives, the intense Rust Cohle and the family-focused Marty Hart, investigate a grisly ritualistic murder that seems to point to a larger, darker conspiracy. Jumping between that case and their later lives in 2012, when they are questioned again about the investigation, the story shows how the hunt for the killer exposes hidden flaws in both men. Their partnership, their marriages, and their careers are all strained as the truth about the case and about themselves comes to light.
